Frequently Asked Questions

How is clarity different from sharpening?

Sharpening works at a radius of a few pixels and targets edges. Clarity compares each pixel with a wider neighbourhood, a share of the frame size, so broad shapes gain separation.

What do negative values do?

They reduce local contrast, which softens skin and texture for a gentle, glowing look.

Does the radius depend on resolution?

No. It is a percentage of the frame, so the preview and export look the same.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
