Wash a clip in one color. The tint is blended over every frame with the blend mode you choose, from a subtle warm cast to a strong single-color look.

Color, mode, and strength

Tint Color sets the overlay. Blend Mode decides how it combines with the picture, and Strength how much of it is applied. Soft Light at 30% to 50% gives a gentle grade; Color at 100% gives a monochrome in the tint’s hue.

Tint versus duotone

A tint keeps the clip’s own tonal range and adds color over it. For a look where shadows and highlights are rebuilt from two chosen colors, use the duotone video effect.

Which blend mode should I use?

Multiply darkens toward the tint, Screen lightens toward it, Overlay and Soft Light tint the midtones while keeping contrast, Color keeps brightness and replaces hue and saturation, and Luminosity keeps color and takes brightness from the tint.

Can I match a brand color?

Yes. Enter the exact hex value as the tint color.

What does Base Saturation do?

It changes the clip's own saturation before the tint is applied. Lower it so the tint color dominates.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
