Dehaze Video

Settings are written to the URL as you change them. Nothing differs from the defaults yet.

Cut through the haze in landscape, drone, and city footage. Distant mountains, skylines, and horizons regain contrast and color as the estimated haze is subtracted.

Strength and depth

Dehaze Strength sets how much of the estimated haze is removed. Haze Depth sets how strongly distant areas are treated. Contrast expands the recovered range, and Warmth corrects the blue or gray cast that haze leaves behind.

Per-frame estimate

The haze estimate is made on every frame. In a steady shot it barely changes; when the framing or lighting changes a lot, the correction follows it. Aerial footage with sky in every frame gives the most stable result.

Frequently Asked Questions

With a dark-channel estimate: in haze-free areas, some pixel in each neighbourhood is nearly black in at least one channel. Haze lifts those minimums, and how much they are lifted estimates how much haze lies between the camera and the scene.

Yes, slightly. The haze color is estimated from each frame's brightest hazy area, so when a bright object enters the shot the correction can shift. Steady drone and landscape shots stay consistent; lower Dehaze Strength if a clip pumps.

It improves light haze and distant atmosphere. Dense fog hides the scene entirely, and removing it amplifies noise instead of revealing detail.

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
