Watercolor Video Effect

Shareable link

Settings are written to the URL as you change them. Nothing differs from the defaults yet.

Paint a clip in watercolor. Detail dissolves into soft washes of color, edges between shapes stay crisp, and the grain of the paper shows through.

Brush and vibrance

Brush Scale sets how broad the washes are. Larger brushes remove more detail. Vibrance raises saturation before painting, which keeps skies and landscapes from turning gray.

Paper texture

Paper Texture blends in the grain of cold-press paper. On video it stays still, so the picture reads as paint moving on a sheet. For heavier, more opaque strokes, use the oil painting video effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

A Kuwahara filter smooths flat areas into washes while keeping edges sharp, saturation is raised so colors do not go muddy, and a paper texture is blended over the result.

No. It is a share of the frame, so the preview and export are painted with the same stroke size.

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
