Engrave a clip like a banknote portrait. Each frame is rebuilt from fine hatch lines that curve with the form, crossing in the shadows and thinning in the light.

Density and exposure

Line Density sets how tightly the hatch lines are packed. Low density gives a bold, open graphic; high density gives intricate, currency-like crosshatching. Exposure moves the balance between lines and bare paper.

Ink and paper

Ink Color and Paper Color set the two tones of the print. Faces and hands read well, since the lines follow their curves; flat, featureless footage gives flat hatching.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are the lines shaped?

Tone is translated into hatch lines, with crosshatching added in darker areas. Contour flow bends the line field to follow the light and shadow of the subject, which keeps it from looking like a rigid grid.

Why do the lines shift between frames?

The line jitter is seeded from each frame's timestamp and changes 30 times per second of source time, so each frame looks freshly engraved. The overall line structure still follows the picture.

Which colors look like a banknote?

A dark green ink on pale green-white paper, the defaults, echoes currency printing. Dark brown on cream gives a book illustration look.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
