Pull the color channels of a clip apart so every edge carries a red and a cyan outline, the look of an old 3D movie viewed without the glasses.
Separation distance and angle
Separation Distance sets how far the two channel groups move from the center. Separation Angle sets the direction: 0° is the horizontal split of stereoscopic footage, 90° splits vertically, and anything between gives a diagonal offset. The offset is the same across the frame, unlike the radial fringing of the chromatic aberration video effect.
Motion and the split
Because the offset is fixed, fast horizontal motion along the split direction can make the two copies seem to trail each other. Slow movement and static shots read most clearly. Ghosting at 20% to 40% keeps faces solid when the separation is large.
