Add the colored fringing of a cheap or vintage lens to a clip. Real lenses bend red, green, and blue light by slightly different amounts, so the three colors land in different places toward the edge of the frame. This effect moves the channels apart to reproduce that.
Radial fringing
Radial mode shifts red and blue in opposite directions away from the center. The shift is zero in the middle and largest in the corners, so a subject framed in the center stays clean. Protected Center widens that clean zone.
Straight RGB split
Horizontal and Vertical shift every pixel by the same amount along one axis. This is the separated look of music videos and title cards, closer to a glitch than to a lens. Pair it with the glitch video effect for a broken-signal style.
Fringe colors
Red / Cyan moves red against green and blue, which gives the red and cyan edges of anaglyph 3D glasses. Red / Blue leaves green in place and splits red from blue, which fringes magenta and yellow-green.
Strength in motion
Fringing shows along edges, so busy footage with lots of detail shows it more than soft shots. In motion, 10% to 25% already reads as a lens character; above 50% the frame splits into visible copies.
