Zoom Burst Video Effect

Shareable link

Settings are written to the URL as you change them. Nothing differs from the defaults yet.

Give a clip the explosive radial streaks of a zoom pulled during a long exposure. Detail near the center stays readable while the edges of the frame blur outward.

Intensity and smoothness

Burst Intensity sets how far the streaks reach. Low values add a faint radial haze; high values pull the edges into long rays. Smoothness sets how many samples make up each streak: more samples give a clean gradient at a higher cost per frame.

Center point

Center X and Center Y position the origin of the burst. Put it on the subject so the subject stays sharpest. For footage moving toward the camera, such as a road from a moving car, the burst adds a strong sense of speed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Each pixel is averaged with samples along a line running outward from the center. Burst Intensity sets the length of that line and Smoothness the number of samples.

Too few samples for the streak length. Raise Smoothness; each extra sample adds work per frame, so long clips export more slowly.

Yes, near the burst center, where the streaks are shortest. Move Center X and Center Y onto the subject.

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
