Give a clip the shifting rainbow sheen of holographic foil. Bands of spectral color run across the frame at an angle and mix into the picture, strongest where the source is bright.

Angle and bands

Foil Angle sets the direction of the bands. Spectral Bands sets how many repeat across the frame: few bands give broad washes of color, many give narrow stripes like a trading-card foil.

Iridescence and foil texture

Iridescence controls how much spectrum mixes into the source. Foil Texture adds a fine grain that breaks up the bands the way the embossing of a real hologram does. The grain stays still while the picture moves beneath it, so the clip looks printed on foil rather than filtered.

Footage

Bright, high-key footage carries the effect best, since the spectrum rides on luminance. Product shots, fashion clips, and abstract motion loops take strong settings well.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the spectrum made?

Three phase-shifted color waves are projected across the frame at the Foil Angle. Their red, green, and blue peaks form bands that behave like light interference rather than a painted rainbow.

Does the foil texture move?

No. The fine foil grain is fixed for the whole clip, as on a physical holographic sheet, and the picture moves under it.

Can I keep skin tones natural?

Lower Iridescence. Strong settings replace the original color relationships; around 30% the spectrum tints highlights while faces stay recognisable.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
