Turn a clip into a travelling wave. The step is the same sine displacement the image version uses, run on every frame with a phase that advances with the clip’s time, so crests move across the picture instead of sitting still.
Shape
Amplitude is the peak displacement and wavelength the distance between crests, both as a share of the frame’s shorter side, so the preview at 720p and an export at source size bend identically. Horizontal sways rows, vertical sways columns, both combines them and ripple sends rings out from the centre.
Motion
Speed sets how many cycles pass a point each second. Slow values, around 0.3, read as heat haze or water; 2 and above read as a signal fault. Phase sets where the wave starts at the first frame, which matters when the clip is cut to music or loops.
Because the phase comes from the source timestamp, the live preview and the exported file agree frame for frame, and a clip exported twice bends the same way both times.
Edges
Pixels pulled from beyond the frame repeat the edge, which shows as a smear at high amplitude. Crop the border afterwards with the video cropper, or keep amplitude under about 5% when the edges stay in shot.
