Toner and contrast

Contrast separates the tones; Toner forces them toward two levels. High toner with moderate contrast gives the cut-and-paste zine look; lower toner keeps some photographic gray.

Lines and streaks

Scan Lines adds horizontal banding, and Streaks vertical marks. Both stay fixed from frame to frame, which reads as a faulty machine rather than noise. Pair with the thermal printer video effect for a harder 1-bit look.

What does Toner do?

It pushes each frame toward a hard black-and-paper threshold, the crushed look of a copier running low on contrast control. Raise it for a graphic zine look rather than pushing Contrast alone.

Why do the scan lines look finer at 1080p?

Scan lines and streaks are drawn in output pixels. A 1080p export fits more of them into the same picture than 720p, so the pattern reads finer.

Do the streaks move?

No. Vertical streaks and scan lines sit at fixed positions, like a dirty copier drum, while the picture changes beneath them.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
