Faded color and grain

Faded Color sets how far the grade goes, from a light tint to the washed look of an old print. Print Grain adds fine grain that changes on every frame; it shows most in skies and skin.

Footage that works

Soft daylight, portraits, and casual handheld footage suit the look. For harsher flash and more visible film damage, use the disposable camera video effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the video get a Polaroid frame?

No. The instant camera image tool adds the white paper border and square crop around the photo. The video version applies the instant-print color and grain across the full frame.

What does Faded Color do?

It lifts the blacks, softens highlight contrast, and warms the color response, the way an instant print looks after some years.

Does the grain move?

Yes. It is seeded from each frame's timestamp and changes 30 times per second of source time.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
