Turn every tree and lawn in a clip red. Aerochrome was a false-color infrared film used for aerial surveys and later for music videos and art films, where it painted foliage in pinks and reds against blue skies.

Profile and intensity

Profile sets the overall rendering, from classic red to electric magenta. Intensity sets how strongly the mapping is applied. Foliage widens or narrows which greens count as vegetation, and Red Bloom adds the soft glow infrared film gave to bright leaves.

Footage that works

Landscapes, parks, forests, and gardens with plenty of green and some sky carry the look. Footage without vegetation changes little. The film grain is seeded per frame, so it moves like real grain while the colors follow the picture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this need infrared footage?

No. It detects green and yellow-green hues in ordinary footage and maps them to red and magenta, the way chlorophyll's infrared reflection showed on Aerochrome film. It is a simulation, not an infrared recording.

Why are some green objects not changing?

Detection works on hue and saturation. Dry grass, dark evergreens, and gray-green surfaces sit outside the default range; raise Foliage to widen it.

What are the profiles?

Classic is the balanced red Aerochrome look; Electric pushes saturated magenta; Pastel softens it; Survey gives deeper reds with higher contrast, closer to aerial survey prints.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
