Turn a clip into a warm, brown-toned monochrome, the color of early photographic prints and old film. Each frame is converted to tone and mapped onto the sepia color.

Strength and ink tone

Sepia Strength blends the toned frame with the original. Ink Tone moves the color between gold and copper. Tint Density sets how saturated the brown is.

Making it look old

Sepia alone reads as a color grade. For the look of archival footage, add grain and a vignette in the video workflow, or pick a black-and-white base with the black and white video converter and tone it lightly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Ink Tone change?

The hue of the sepia. Toward gold gives a lighter, yellow warmth; toward copper a richer red-brown.

Can I keep some original color?

Yes. Sepia Strength below 100% blends the original color back, which reads as a warm vintage grade rather than a monochrome print.

What does Tint Density do?

It sets the saturation of the sepia. Low values give a faded, almost gray print; high values a deep brown.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
