Turn a clip into moving embroidery. The frame is divided into a grid of stitches on woven aida cloth, and each stitch takes the color of what lies beneath it.

Stitch scale

Stitch Scale sets how many stitches fit across the frame, as a share of its size. Small values pack in hundreds of stitches and keep faces recognisable; above 30% only shapes and broad color survive.

Threads and fabric

Thread Colors limits the palette. Fabric Color sets the cloth that shows between stitches. Motion changes the stitch colors from frame to frame while the grid stays still, like a moving pixel image drawn in thread.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is each stitch colored?

Each grid cell averages the color beneath it, snaps to the nearest of the available thread colors, and is drawn as two crossing diagonal threads with highlights.

What does Thread Colors change?

The number of distinct colors. Each RGB channel is divided into evenly spaced levels, so fewer colors give flat, graphic blocks and more keep gradients.

Does the stitch grid move?

No. The grid and fabric stay fixed to the frame; only the thread colors change as the picture moves, which looks like an animated embroidery.

What happens to the audio?

It is copied into the export unchanged when the container can hold its codec, and re-encoded when it cannot. A note under the export button says which happened.
