Strip emoji characters

Paste captions, comments, exports, or copied messages to remove common emoji and extended pictographs. Words, numbers, punctuation, and line breaks stay in place.

Emoji sequences

Many visible emoji are built from several Unicode characters. The pictographic characters are removed, but an invisible joiner or variation selector can remain from a complex sequence.

Spacing after removal

Spaces around an emoji are preserved. If deletion leaves double spaces, run extra-space removal from the full Text Cleaner after removing the emoji.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which emoji are removed?

The cleanup removes characters in the Emoji_Presentation and Extended_Pictographic Unicode properties, covering common emoji and pictographs.

Does removing emoji also remove nearby spaces?

No. Only matched characters are deleted, so spaces around an emoji remain.

Can symbol-like characters remain?

Yes. Not every decorative or symbol-like Unicode character is classified as emoji, and joiner or variation characters from complex sequences can remain.
