ITF-14 Barcode Generator

Generated barcode preview

ITF-14 is an Interleaved 2-of-5 symbol used to mark outer packaging in GS1 supply chains. Each pair of digits is encoded together: one digit in the bars, the adjacent digit in the spaces between them.

Input format

13 or 14 numeric digits only. Entered as 13 digits, the encoder appends the GS1 Modulo-10 check digit. The full 14-digit value typically encodes a GTIN-14: a packaging indicator digit followed by a 13-digit EAN/GTIN product code.

Printing on corrugated

ITF-14 is designed for printing on rough surfaces such as corrugated cardboard. The standard output includes bearer bars — thick rules above and below the bars — that keep platen pressure even during contact printing and reduce ink spread errors.

Frequently Asked Questions

13 or 14 digits, all numeric. If you enter 13, the Modulo-10 check digit is appended automatically. Entering 14 digits includes a pre-computed check digit.

Outer packaging in GS1 supply chains: shipping cartons, cases, and pallets. It is not intended for individual consumer products — that is EAN-13 or UPC-A.

Bearer bars are the thick horizontal lines above and below the barcode. They ensure even pressure during high-speed printing on corrugated cardboard, which reduces scan failures caused by ink spread.
