WebM is what browsers produce when they record audio or screen capture, and what much of the web serves for media. Pulling the audio out as MP3 is the step that makes it usable in podcast tools, editors, and players.
Audio only
The container may hold video, audio, or both. Only the audio track is decoded and encoded; there is no video output. If the file has no audio track, the probe finds nothing to render.
Bitrate against the source
WebM commonly carries Opus at 64 to 128 kbps. Encoding to 192 kbps MP3 leaves enough headroom that the second pass adds little, though it does mean a larger file than the original.
For a lecture or podcast recording, 128 kbps MP3 in the full Audio Converter is usually the better tradeoff.
